Hello, I am Andrea, a journalism student in Florida.
I believe happiness to be a way of life instead of a longed-for destination. In college, we tend to lose our balance. Between eating all the wrong things, forgetting how to exercise and overdosing on coffee, it is easy to forget what you are here for in the first place.
I will post about all types of ways to live more comfortably in your mind and body; to tell you how to deal with stress and keep those pounds off. I am not an expert in anything, but more of a peer who happens to share with you things that seem useful in these formative years.
In the blogs I read I found an interesting post on focused attention. I have noticed in my own everyday life that this multi-tasking ability so recurrent in my age group is not so much an ability as it is a problem. I realized it this weekend, as I was attempting to read, watch the MTV Video Music Awards and hang out with my roommates simultaneously. What happened? I don’t know why Britney Spears was back on that screen again, I read four pages in an hour and my roommates think that I find them extremely uninteresting.
This is not only a one day thing but a habit, and I will try to challenge myself to stop the multitasking. I could start now, for example, by closing the ten tabs that I so compulsively opened in my browser. (I am not joking, there is ten of them.)
Well, hope you enjoyed this first post. Try challenging yourself to do less and therefore accomplish more, and let me know how it goes.
